Castle Stuart, the new course near Inverness, has been open now for three years. The design team for this new course included Mark Parsinen who was also part of the design team at Kingsbarns near St Andrews.
Castle Stuart has been conceived by the designers to be for the Highlands, a centrepiece for the Scottish destination golf resort. Castle Stuart golf links is a championship links course overlooking the Murray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the black Isle.
The fourth hole is beautifully framed by Castle Stuart itself and this is one of the Links Club's favourite holes.
This is a golf course that the low and high handicapper will enjoy It is a course that is spectacular in its views and in its wide fairways but difficult, yet accessible greens.
Castle Stuart is a must play venue for any golfer travelling to the north east of Scotland. Joined with Royal Dornoch and Nairn close by, it makes an excellent centrepiece for all golfing groups.
To cement its position in Scottish golf, Castle Stuart has now played host to two Scottish Opens.
The Scottish Open is played one week before the "Open" and is therefore a must play venue for professionals wishing to qualify for the second last major of the season.
