Kingsbarns, with its new course, is a unique and excellent golfing experience. The course was opened in July 2000 and has gone on to be a success from the first day that golf was played on it. The service that golfers experience at Kingbarns is simply the best in Scotland. The staff compliments this great golf course by helping the golfer from the minute they step out of their vehicle and into the clubhouse. The views from the clubhouse alone are spectacular but the views from the golf course are even more so. Very similar in design to Castle Stuart, it is generous with its fairways but sets a premium in position from the tee. It hosts spectacular views from a majority of the holes with the 15th probably being the most stunning - 212 yard par 3 over the sea to a slightly raised green completely exposed with water surrounding nearly 70 percent of the putting surface - a great hole with a stellar view. Kingsbarns is one of the best golfing experiences that Scotland can offer. Kingsbarns currently hosts the Alfred Dunhill Championship and was the local final qualifying venue for the 2010 Open on the Old Course.
