In 1876 the Kintyre Golf Glub was founded and in 1879 Old Tom Mortis designed the course. In 1888, the name of the course was changed to Macrihanish. This links course on the Kintrye peninsula must be one of the most enjoyable places to play golf. Spectacular sunsets, its exciting first hole and seriously large sand dues, make for an exceptional first nine holes. The greens are usually very fast and true, with blind shots, raised greens and punch bowl greens, the entire experience of playing golf at Macrihanish is exceptional. It is sometimes awkward to get to Macrihanish but we can offer several options that are cost effective.
