Duration: 8 Days, 7 Nights
Accommodation: Newholme House
All accommodation will be at Newholme House situated in Stirling, in the centre of Scotland. With easy road links to golf in St Andrews, East Lothian, and the West coast courses. The group can be picked up either at Glasgow or Edinburgh airport, with a travel time of around 45 to 50 minutes to the house for your first night.
From here you will tour the courses chosen and visit the distilleries and castles that you want from your base at Newholme.
During your entire stay you will receive 6 dinners and 7 breakfasts. These meals will be prepared and served to you by one of our local resident Cordon Bleu cooks that look after our clients here at Newholme.
The golf courses are all out of the long list of classic links courses played over by most of our visitors, and your host, David Callander, will drive you to and from these courses. The budget element is the transport and the cost of accommodation and meals, making substantial savings on a B&B four-star hotel option normally favoured by golfing clients. Newholme is a self-catering house with 6 large bedrooms, with the ability to hold 8 golfers comfortably. Please see www.newholme.co.uk for the full house outline.
This option is now proving very popular with golfers as it affords excellent value. The catering is of an excellent standard, and is commented on by all previous clients. The flexibility to purchase at cost, wine and spirits locally of the right quantities again saves money but also allows for individual tastes. On returning to Newholme golfers can enjoy there pre dinner drinks in the bath if they so wish.
With full laundry facilities and a cleaner included in the cost, the golfer who gets wet can rely on clean and dry clothes the next day.
From Stirling a majority of the Major championship courses are reached within 1 hr to 1 hr and 40 minutes.
Gleneagles is 20 minutes up the road and the two major cities are reachable in 45 minutes. Many groups combine a week's stay at Newholme with perhaps a two-night stay at Turnberry or a three-night stay further north in Inverness or Aberdeen in order to pick up golf at royal Aberdeen Castle Stuart, and Royal Dornoch. In this instance the stay at Newholme is finished with two nights at Turnberry, playing the Ailsa at Turnberry and Royal Troon.
Golf at Turnberry: Ailsa Championship Course, Western Gailes, Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, Royal Troon North Berwick, Carnoustie, the Old Course, and Kingsbarns.
All evening meals and breakfasts at Newholme are included. At Turnberry accommodation is on a B&B basis.
On this tour the 8 golfers will be moved in the VW Caravelle, and driven by David Callander
Exclusions: Caddies, Carts, Gratuities, beverages and midday meals, room extras and spa treatments.
This tour is built on flexibility and the section while staying at Newholme allows golfers to have a rest day and travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow or see some of the distilleries that are around the city of Stirling. It is a tour that will allow golfers to sample some of the local pubs in the golfing areas and then return home in good time for dinner. Prompt booking and forward planning is essential as Newholme is a popular self-catering venue.
